I forgot my camera cord cause we're kinda in a rush but I'll get those pictures right to ya later today.
I led Family Night with this way awesome family monday night and that ended up being way good. Tuesday we had a loooooot of people show up to English class. Elder Weaver and I opened up another day of english class each week and we have been getting so many people to show up. It has been real helpful. I was able to give a spiritual thought that was, in Elder Weaver's words: 'the most spiritual, coolest, well thought-out/spiritually guided thought." Yay haha.
Near the end of english he turned to me and said: you are going to give a thought on hymns. So a couple minutes later I got up, and started off by saying what a blessing music is to all of us. I asked whoever loved music to raise their hand (which should always be everyone haha). They I talked about how much I love music and how it has changed my life in lots of ways and they all know I love Coldplay so they teased me about that as usual. (coldplay is coming here in a few months haha). Then after explaining how amazing music is, I explained what Hymns are. How they are really special music INTEnded to bring the Holy Ghost and to show our love to God. I went on on that for a bit and then asked the class if we could all sing a Hymn together. We had people singing in Thai, English, Vietnamese, Chinese and it was sooo cool! We taught one of the other Elder's investigators after thaaat.
Wednesday I wrote down a few scriptures I loved from Matthew but I don't have like anythiiing with me haha so I can't remember much. Matthew 9:20-22, 28-29, 37-38.
37-38: The harvest truly is plentious, but the labourers are few. Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that He will send forth labourers into the harvest.
I also had an interview with President Johnson on Wednesday. Wow he is a really awesome guy. Sure knows how to make every of the 184 missionaries feel special. Haha.
Thursday. Was kinda gettin a lil sad cause of our poor goings with investigators haha. Got a FOR SURE baptism this coming sunday and two the following week; unless work messes that up again. But we got quite a few people ready but just don't have the time. We also found out one of our best investigators will be leaving out of town for 4 weeks. Theeen Elder Weaver got way sick, but we still went to English. Before we left, I said a prayer for us. Prayed for Weaver and prayed we would have a miracle and that an investigator might show up or we could get new investigators because I Wanna teach lessons again goshdangit haha.
So we got there and the girl who is leaving for 4 weeks was there! Then after our lesson, we had 4 people ask us to learn about the gospel. It was so cool. I thought it would be awesome so I asked the girl to help us teach these other new investigators. It was a way cool, simple lesson. ONe of the guys asked 'what sect of Christianity is this?" and one of the members helping us said, "no this isn't any sect of Christianity, this is THE Church of Jesus Christ." And they really liked that. After the lesson they stuck around for like an hour asking questions about missionary work, the Prophet, tithing, leadership, the Book of Mormon. They loved it all. One of the coolest things was after explaining that we had Stake Conference this sunday, one of the dudes came up to me quietly and asked: 'could you take notes at this meeting for me? I want to know all about it." Then he pointed to his Book of Mormon and said "I am really excited to learn more about your church." I told him that I would take notes but that he could also come with us to the meeting! haha. His eyes went way big haha. Was a really happy night. Miracles.
Friday and Saturday Elder Weaver slept in cause he was waaaaay sick still. So I got a lot of extra study and hanging around in haha. He was able to make it to Sport's Night but that didn't help him at all.
Saturday we had a real weird situation going on with one of our favorite investigators. The cute lil old man. His name is Ty Law haha. This has been developing for a few weeks now. But one of our ward members a few weeks ago offered two of our investigators jobs in construction, so they took it because they are refugees who don't really have much money. But since they are Hmong, he has been ripping them off and being way rude. So that has caused problems such as: 'is this what we should expect from members of this church?' etc. Stuff like that. But a little more is that Ty Law has one son who was baptized several months ago. He is a way cool, strong member. So he told his father and older brother to go to church. But they usually only have enough money to send one person to church each week. So yeah they have really strong faith and love church. Anywho, Saturday there was this way big sketchy situation that would take a lot longer to explain but Elder Weaver and I had to be like body guards with this meeting with a member, The Member, Ty Law, and the Bishop. Haha, that was confusing.
And Sunday we had a huge multi-stake conference at this way big fancy hotel. It was really cool. I hear all the time about how my group was the golden one because of all the big, crazy things happening in just our first and second transfer.
Last night we felt like visiting Jack at work, so we went and he wasn't there. After checking out his cool workplace for a while and me wanting to watch the sunset, we left. And as we left we met two people on the elevator. And as we went down the elevator we talked with them. And as we talked with them they asked to learn about our church. So yeah, investigators are too easy haha (;
My english is getting bad way too fast haha. I don't know if it is obvious. But this week was awesome. Elder Weaver and I have become really good friends and have the funnest time working. I think that is about everything. Thanksgiving was awesome. Didn't even realize it was that day til 8 pm. Haha. The last few weeks we blast Christmas music throughout our house and everyone sings a long that is real great.
I love you so much! (:
