Transfer calls came last night before a way awesome english class. Elder Bastian is leaving and I'm sad but he's staying in the district haha. My new companion will be Elder Xiawong who is from Laos. He was trained by my trainer as well, Elder Weaver. He is way great and I am looking forward to serving with him in Minburi.
We had a great week with Stake Conference and finding, teaching, helping others progress. Elder Bastian and I have got a good start to this area and I am excited to keep it moving forward.
Something I feel needs to have more of a focus on in all of our lives is Forgiveness. At first I wished that Forgiveness was a Christlike Attribute in Preach My Gospel. As I thought about it more I realized that Forgivess covers every single attribute.
Forgiveness requires a lot of Faith Hope Charity and Love, trusting even if it is hard to forgive... it shall be well with us. Knowledge, I like to think of it as putting yourself in their shoes. Having the intellect to understand the situation even if it is really misunderstandable. One thing my trainer taught me in forgiving others was: 'Kill them with kindness.' No matter what others do to you, return with love. Forgiveness is a form of Patience and Humility, which both will take a lot of Faith. Diligence and Obedience in forgiving others is also important. Anywho this is just quick and short. But as I try to be a very forgiving person, I know that God blesses us and lets us know we are doing what is right. There are so many situations where it may feel impossible to forgive someone. But I know that if we humble ourselves patiently, having great Faith, Hope, and Love for God... that we will know through the Holy Ghost that He lives. That His purpose is for us to always forgive others, just like our Savior Jesus Christ, the perfect forgiver. I love Him.
I love you! 💙
I still haven't said this dangit. But easily the best day of my mission was when I got to see you at conference. I love you mom (:
Hey mom (: Wanted to say thanks soooooo soo much for all you have done for me especially in serving a mission. I could never thank you enough.
Also another thing I have included in a letter that should be coming soon is: i know you try to get to know all of us kids well already, but try to get all of us to know you and dad better. I feel like it would be easier and more comfortable to be open with you guys if having friendly conversations were a really common thing. I wish I had been better and I know i will be when I am home. Its not your fault, but i know that being completely comfortable around parents will totally help relationships, honesty, desire to know each other more,,, lots of stuff. Anywho, I've got one more email coming in a bit.
Just wanted to say a few things is first that for the rest of the children who do (will) serve missions, that most stuff on the packing list and that most missionaries go on their mission with are available in the country haha. I didn't know but most stuff I brought with me here they have here for way cheap. But I've still been using all the stuff you sent me with. Example like hangers and body cleansing supplies toothbrushes shoes. etc etc. So a heads up for the other brothers in case they serve somewhere like Thailand,,, we could probably save a lot of money (: Just trying to help don't take this wrong haha
He also gave the advice to set goals daily and that we will be much more productive when we do that. He suggested we get up at 6:30. :) Maybe we can try that when school starts again.
I sure love and miss the kid but he's amazing and has grown in leaps and bounds.
